Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is HeadshotMarketing?
HeadshotMarketing is a comprehensive end-to-end marketing and sales platform — a unified command center for multi-channel campaigns, marketing automation, CRM, social media, paid ads, influencer marketing, content management, and AI-powered analytics and attribution. It is built to replace a fragmented stack of point tools with one integrated system.
Is HeadshotMarketing about headshots or photography?
No. Despite the name, HeadshotMarketing is not a photo or headshot tool — it is a full marketing and sales platform. "HeadshotMarketing" is simply our brand name; the product is a unified marketing command center for running campaigns, automation, CRM, and analytics across every channel.
Who is HeadshotMarketing for?
Small and mid-market businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and point tools, enterprises that need governed scale and trustworthy attribution, agencies running many clients from isolated workspaces, and developer-led and global teams reached through the platform's ecosystem surfaces.
How is it different from other marketing suites?
Unlike suites assembled from acquired tools, HeadshotMarketing is built from the ground up as one system. Every module — campaigns, automation, CRM, social, ads, content, analytics — shares a single customer database and a single attribution engine, so data flows natively instead of through forced integrations.
Campaigns, CRM & Automation
Does it include a CRM?
Yes. HeadshotMarketing includes a unified CRM with a 360-degree customer view, behavioral and demographic lead scoring, automated routing, and a customizable pipeline — so marketing and sales work from one shared record instead of syncing two systems.
How does marketing automation work?
A visual workflow builder lets you create trigger-based, multi-step journeys with branching logic and delays. Workflows respond to customer behavior in real time and act across email, SMS, social, and web — personalized to each contact, with AI-tuned timing.
What channels can a campaign coordinate?
Email, social networks, paid-ad platforms, events, SMS, and the web — coordinated from a single campaign with one audience and synchronized messaging, rather than disconnected per-tool sends.
Ecosystem & API
What surfaces does the ecosystem provide?
HeadshotMarketing ships with a full toolkit:
| Surface | Purpose |
|---|---|
Node SDK (@headshotmarketing/sdk) | TypeScript programmatic access to campaigns, CRM, and automation |
Python SDK (headshotmarketing-sdk) | Python async access with the same GraphQL APIs |
CLI (@headshotmarketing/cli) | Terminal-first operations, auth, and workspace management |
| Browser extension | Chrome side-panel and popup for quick campaign and contact actions |
| VS Code extension | Editor-integrated campaign, contact, deal, and social post management |
| MCP server | AI-assistant tools via the Model Context Protocol |
| Doctor (E2E) | Backend GraphQL validation test suite |
| Backend service | wspace-headshotmarketing-svc — the GraphQL microservice layer |
Is there an API?
Yes. HeadshotMarketing is API-first, with GraphQL APIs on the Burdenoff Workspaces and Global gateways, a webhook framework for real-time sync, and integrations through the FluidGrids integration platform — covering CRMs, e-commerce, analytics, advertising, and communication tools.
How do I switch between prod, alpha, and local?
All ecosystem tools target production by default. Set the BURDENOFF_ENV environment variable to switch:
BURDENOFF_ENV=alpha headshotmarketing auth login
BURDENOFF_ENV=local code
See Environment Selection for the full endpoint mapping.
Pricing & Plans
How much does HeadshotMarketing cost?
Plan structure and final prices are being finalized. HeadshotMarketing is positioned as an accessible HubSpot alternative, with a core paid tier around $299/month and a path from a free/starter tier up to team, agency, and enterprise editions. Contact us to talk through your needs.
How do I get access?
The web app is available at https://app.headshotmarketing.com. Developer tools (SDK, CLI, extensions) authenticate via the Burdenoff identity layer and are available from npm, the Chrome Web Store, the VS Code Marketplace, and GitHub.
Security & Data
What does "workspace-native" mean for permissions?
Every contact, campaign, workflow, and asset belongs to a workspace, so collaboration, permissions, multi-tenancy, and audit are built in from day one. Sign-in and role-based access control work the same way across every product in the Burdenoff family, so a user carries one identity and one set of permissions. This makes client isolation and enterprise governance straightforward.
How is my data protected?
HeadshotMarketing is delivered as a fully managed cloud service — there is no infrastructure for you to run. Every operation is permission-checked against your role before it executes, actions are recorded in an audit trail, workspaces are isolated from one another, and data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Credentials and secrets are managed separately for each environment. GDPR/CCPA-aligned privacy controls are part of the CRM.
For the full detail — encryption, data residency, the DPA, subprocessors, and an honest compliance-status summary (including what we have not yet earned, like a SOC 2 Type II attestation) — see Security & Privacy or the Trust Centre.
